Dear friends,

On behalf of the Russian Canoe Federation I cordially welcome the participants, organizers and guests of the Canoe Sprint World Cup!

The power of the local sports school named after Konstantin Kostenko, a pioneer of Barnaul rowing, is involved in the rowing race. The design is unique in its technological features. After a training camp in Barnaul, Russian kayaker Maxim Opalev became the first Olympic champion of Russia in rowing and canoeing in Beijing in 2008. The canoe base of the Konstantin Kostenko Sports School has always been in constant use.

Thanks to the efforts of the government of the Altai Territory and the Canoe Federation of the Altai Territory, a world-class Rowing Center has appeared in Barnaul in recent years. The Russian Kayaking and Canoeing Federation considers the Barnaul rowing canal to be the most important springboard for the development of sports in Eurasia and the preparation of Russian athletes for major international competitions in this part of the world.

I am sure that the World Cup held here will show high results, and the players will be able to enjoy an unforgettable show.

Eugene Arkhipov, President of the Russian Canoe Federation
